Abstract :
The purpose of this study was investigating the effect of decision-making style on organizational performance with the role of mediator of competitive strategy in large firms (case study: Maroon Petrochemical Company). In fact, the main issue of this study is: are there any significant decision making style and competitive strategies for organizational performance? The present study is a descriptive research in terms of applied purpose and in terms of collecting data. The structural equation modeling method has been used for analysis. The statistical population of this research is the employees of Maroon Petrochemical Company. Therefore, simple random sampling method is used to determine the statistical population, sample size with confidence level of 0.95, according to Cochran formula, 208 people. In order to collect data, a questionnaire was used to survey the research. Validity and reliability using the criteria in the PLS model is measured. The results showed that competitive advantage and decision making style had a significant effect on organizational performance. The role of mediator of competitive advantage on the relationship between decision making style and organizational performance was confirmed, but the moderating role of decision style on the relationship between competitive advantage and organizational performance was rejected. Based on the findings of the research, it is suggested to managers that the R & D department should take more responsibility for designing new services and responding to customers' demands and use elite individuals in the R & D.
